Ni más ni menos que en octubre de 2016 mandé una carta creyendo que no llegaría a ningún sitio, pobre inocente.

Al parece si que me sé vender bien...Ahí va!

October, 2016

Dear Club Rotary and host family:

My name is Emma, I was born on October 24 and I am 17 years old. I considered myself to be a vivacious and strong-minded, friendly, and responsible person.

I live in a small village called Bétera, which has a population of 21.846. It has big squares and ice-cream streets and pleasant places to have dinner. It is near the mountains, and in turn to fifteen minutes of the city. My neighborhood has a cozy park, tracks of fronton, tennis and many fields of oranges in which I go for a walk with my small dogs. It is a place where you can breathe peace and tranquility.

Every day I get up at 6.30 a.m. to go to the school where I am from the 8.00 a.m. until 2 p.m. I have ten subjects, of all of them my favorites are Chemical, Mathematics and Biology. I am charmed with the sciences and I want to finish in a career related to the health. During my school stage, several times have nominated me a representative of the school for my decision and good knowledge of the topic. Also the same school offered me the opportunity to visit Paris, Rome and Holland. To travel for me as tourist is to admire the beauty of every place and their people.

From a very young age I was interested in several activities like hockey-skate and dance. I like having a moment of the day to do exercise, now I do body combat.

I use to set goals and challenges, using the dedication, the constancy and the effort I can front them. I would be charmed with long walks along places full of innovations and landscapes.

Among the things that occupy my free time also are the reading -a pastime and a pleasure-, or to play with my pets. I enjoy the music in my daily life: pop, indie, reggae… I always take the chance to go to concerts and festivals.

l love spending the whole day with my family, as with my friends. I am a morning person, who gets up early to do the productive day. Many of my friends would describe me as a person likeable and cheerful. My vision is to learn in every instant and to improve what already exists...Abuses to animals and the lack of equality in general makes me feel powerless.

It would be for me a complete experience to live this exchange. I’d love to give the best of me to other people and to soak me of their customs, language, routines and culture. I want to wake up in a place completely different, and breathe it different.

Make friends and meet new people. Learn every day. To live a year unforgettable, by that, I wish with all my soul belong to this family called Rotary exchanges students.

Sincerly,

Emma Castillo Montemayor.
